I feel there is no way anything bad can come from any woman capable of reproduction having control over when she decides to reproduce regardless of age. What's your take on it?

I think anyone who is capable of becoming pregnant should have access.

People will yell and scream about young women needing "parental permission to take an aspirin", so it's inappropriate for them to be able to access "such a dangerous drug", but I think the realm of reproductive rights calls for ALL females to have full control over their reproductive functions.

Young women who are being sexually abused at home often are afraid to speak up, or do not get parental backing when they do. So, how are they going to find their way to a doctor to get a prescription because they're being abused by daddy, step-daddy or another male family member? How are they going to get a prescription if they are afraid to speak up about what is going on? The best situation, of course, is for her to speak up, but if she is afraid to, she shouldn't be "punished" by not being allowed to take steps to prevent pregnancy.

You are absofreakinlutely correct.....

People will yell and scream about young women needing "parental permission to take an aspirin.

That is usually in the context of being in school, I never needed my mother's permission to take an aspirin at home....I'm assuming the young women aren't going to the school nurse for the morning after pill.....

Great points....

Good points both of you. People need to realize that medicine that has to do with controlling reproductive rights should be approached in a different manner than drugs that have nothing to do with anyones rights such as asprin

I was just reading that the decision was made not to lower the age requirement.

Kathleen Sebelius said she would lower the age no matter what recommendations the FDA makes. I am quite surprised especially given the fact she was appointed by the Obama administration.
