About 11 to 12 percent of women in general suffer from mental health issues like anxiety or depression, but among women with unwanted pregnancies that figure rises to about one-third, he said. For women who later had an abortion, there did not appear to be any further increase in their rate of mental health problems.
"We should be looking at what it is about the unwanted pregnancy stage that is so problematic," he said. "We need to try to get those women help sooner so they're not put at greater risk."
Not surprised by this at all. What about you? I've always said we need to target the #1 cause for abortions, unwanted pregnancies. This study certainly backs this up
I can only speak for myself when I say I made the best decision I could at the time I had my abortion and 33 years later it was still the best decision. My heart and mind are clear and I have NO self doubts or mental illness caused by having an abortion. Most women I know that have had unplanned/unwanted pregnancy are the same way. The one who's most messed up is my friend Kim, who gave her baby up for adoption.

Thanks for sharing your experience. It certainly backs this study. There have been studies done that show adoption causes far greater distress. But of course you won't hear about that from the pro-life crowd or crisis pregnancy centers.
